Baking Soda

Most people already have a box of baking soda handy to their home. It is the systemic alkalizer compound found in baking soda that stops stomach acid caused by indigestion. If you have any kidney or intestinal problems, you shouldn’t use this baking soda home remedy.

To make the baking soda treatment, you’ll need to add 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda to a cup of water and stir it properly. Once the bubbles go away, drink the mixture as quickly as you can. If you don’t feel better within ten minutes, then make the mixture again, but this time add a little vinegar to it. You should feel immediate relief from your indigestion symptoms after a heavy meal.

To make your lemon water only add a 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice to a cup of water. Drink the lemon water and you should get immediate relief from symptoms. If you don’t have enough lemons to squeeze a 1/4 cup of lemon juice just add the juice of one lemon to the water and drink.

If you use these home remedies, and you don’t start to see relief from your symptoms it might be because your indigestion is just an underlying cause of a bigger problem like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or gallbladder disease.
